Tower Cottage stands beside the Tower of the former Abbot's Lodging across the courtyard from the Cider House. The Tower dates from the early 14th century, although the cottage itself is later.
An area of the Walled Garden has been set aside for the exclusive use of guests, with garden seats, lawns and flowers, and a seat in the wall where, it is said, the monks came to meditate - or perhaps rest from their labours! The rest of the walled garden grows organic fruit and vegetables, and flowers for cutting, and there is usually plenty to spare for visitors.
Guests are welcome to use the hard tennis court at any time (please bring tennis shoes - not trainers), or enjoy the stream which runs through the fields, always a fascination for children.
